Green Ride: Kayuhan Kesihatan Dan Selamatkan Planet Anda

 

gr-1-1KANGAR – Sebanyak 480 peserta dari Perlis, Kedah, Pulau Pinang, Perak dan Selangor hari ini mengambil bahagian dalam program “The Green Ride” dengan mengayuh basikal sejauh 42 kilometer sambil menjalankan aktiviti menanam pokok jati.

Program itu diadakan di kawasan Kompleks Basikal Lasak yang terletak dalam kawasan hutan simpan kekal Bukit Bintang di sini sempena perasmian kompleks itu yang disempurnakan oleh Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamallulail.

Kompleks itu yang dibina dengan kos RM1.1 juta dan siap pada pertengahan tahun 2009, antara lain menyediakan laluan basikal lasak dari Kuala Perlis ke Wang Kelian.

Sebelum peserta program dilepaskan di Sungai Batu Pahat di sini, Raja Muda Perlis dan Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil turut menanam pokok jati.

Terdahulu, ketika berucap merasmikan kompleks itu, Raja Muda Perlis mahu masyarakat memulihara kawasan hutan kerana hutan bukan sahaja menjadi habitat kepada flora dan fauna, malah mengimbangi cuaca bumi dan menjadi pembersih udara.

Baginda bertitah, ketidakseimbangan cuaca boleh diatasi dengan wujudnya hutan yang terpelihara.

“Sesungguhnya rahsia kesejahteraan hidup kita bukan bergantung semata-mata kepada tahap kualiti kesihatan, tetapi juga mengambil kira pelbagai elemen persekitaran yang lain termasuklah peranan hutan,” titah baginda.

Baginda bertitah, sumbangan hutan kepada masyarakat adalah amat besar termasuk mengawal sumber bekalan air dan mengelakkan kejadian tanah runtuh disebabkan hakisan. – BERNAMA

Hari Bersama Keluarga di Pantai Sakom, Singgora

Hari Keluarga yang pertama diadakan pada tahun 2006 di Muda Resort. Setelah 5 tahun berlalu, akhirnya dengan keizinan Allah, dapat jua diadakan Hari Keluarga yang kedua pada 30 April 2011 – 1 Mei 2011 dengan penyertaan 13 keluarga. Sesungguhnya kekangan dek pelbagai urusan menyebabkan ramai ahli dengan berat hati tidak berkesempatan untuk menyertai. Insya allah dilain kali, Hari Bersama Keluarga akan diadakan lagi.

Public Consultation on Electric Bicycles in Malaysia

PUBLIC CONSULTATION: The Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) is pleased to open for public consultation the issue of electric bicycles in Malaysia.

PURPOSE: The aim of this public consultation is to obtain views, comments and feedback from the public on whether and how to regulate electric bicycles in Malaysia.

BACKGROUND: MIROS has been directed to study and make proposals on how to regulate the use of electric bicycles in the country. The possible use of electric bicycles in Malaysia cuts across multiple sectors such as road safety, green technology, specification standards, the extent of regulation (for example registration, licensing, training, insurance and law enforcement) and socio-economic factors, to name a few. The outcome of this public consultation could have significant implications for consumers and industry.

ISSUES: MIROS therefore seeks feedback from the public and industry on the aforesaid matters and in particular, the following:

  1. According to your understanding:
    1. What is a bicycle?
    2. What is an electric bicycle?
    3. How should we differentiate an electric bicycle from a motorcycle?

  3. Should there be a clear definition of “electric bicycle” in the law?
